This week, we've been reading and discussing why knowing geography matters. Here are some reasons we've come up with: 1. Know your place in the world (in relation to other places, in relation to other cultures) 2. Be aware of true facts/ how the world works -so that you are not tricked by the media/rumors and extreme claims 3. Be a wise global citizen. -Learn about other cultures and ways of life and better be able to communicate and interact with people from other backgrounds/ways of life. This will open up opportunities to share the gospel, and you can intelligently explain the reason for your faith. (1 Peter 3:15-16) And who knows? You might end up on a talk show someday: Look at the picture ABOVE. Is this an example of physical or human geography? Why? Refresh your memory here (the first half of this prezi) and watch some fun videos about topics we'll study this year!: http://prezi.com/wn4s2gajzbai/physical-vs-human-geography/ |
